Our network security system involves the process of preventing and detecting unauthorized access into our computer system. We have prevention measures that helps stop intruders from getting into our network and retrieving sensitive and confidential data, especially those pertaining to clients and projects. These are the measures we have taken:
A Combination of Packet Filtering and Hybrid System Firewall with Crypto-Capable Routers. Packet Filtering is a technique whereby the routers will execute the ACL (Access Control List) enforcing security policy with regard to what sorts of access are allowed. Hybrid System is the combination of application gateways and packet filtering with the integration of Cisco Routers to get a security of the application layer gateways with the flexibility and speed of packet filtering.
Encrypted FTP service with Transport Layer Security (TLS). The TLS protocol allows applications to communicate across a network in a way designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, and message forgery. TLS provides endpoint authentication and communications privacy over the Internet using cryptography. Typically, only the server is authenticated (i.e., its identity is ensured) while the client remains unauthenticated.
FTP is a very insecure protocol because all passwords and all data are transferred in clear text. By using TLS, the whole communication can be encrypted, thus making FTP much more secure.
Centralized Anti-Virus. We have also installed a centralized Antivirus wherein all workstations connected to the network are filtered and scanned remotely by this server. All incoming and outgoing files attached to e-mail or from FTP are scanned and filtered as well. This process ensures that all files coming to and from us are safe and virus-free.
